I’m Godly proud to say that the ministry that I’m a part of is a highly prophetic ministry. God truly speaks through our house prophets and Holy Spirit uses them mightily. We know this because fruit follows their prophecies. They come to pass. Such a blessing. Many times, prophets speak and pronounce financial blessings, houses, cars, promotions and the such, and we, of course being happy about those words, receive it with joy and gladness. However, there is one part of what the prophets speak that we forget about; and that’s the rebuke.
Throughout the old testament, if you’ve studied the prophets, I’m sure you have noticed that many of them gave stern warnings that they received from God. Often times, it was a “get your self together” type of message. Understand that a true prophet will not always have good news! Sometimes, it’s rebuke. Herein lies the problem: we don’t like to be chastised! But, the bible reminds us that the Lord chastens those that He loves. (Hebrews 12:6) And He does this through his Prophets, Apostles and Pastors.
It amazes me how it’s “all God” when we get a word that pronounces blessings on us, but the man/woman of God are “in the flesh” if it’s a word of rebuke. No, we have to be mature enough in God to accept rebuke. The truth of the matter is, one of the reasons we don’t have some of the things that were spoken to us is because we won’t get rid of the trash in our lives that we know we should have gotten rid of a long time ago. We want God to give us more money, but we refuse to honor Him with the tithe. We want our Pastors to pray for us, come to the hospitals, help us pay bills, feed us, but we won’t give them anything of our income. The Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 9:11 (TLB) “We have planted good spiritual seed in your souls. Is it too much to ask, in return, for mere food and clothing?”
So there are times that God will tell us to “get ourselves together” before He blesses us with the money, houses and cars. My question to you is, are you willing to receive the rebuke like you receive the blessings? It’s high time that we turn the light on ourselves and see where we’ve gotten off track. Some things shouting and dancing won’t fix. It requires repentance and change.
