Rejoice…still

“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,  and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, YET I will rejoice in the LordI will be joyful in the God of my salvation!”  ~Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NLT)

Life has a way of dealing some hard blows.  Things get rough.  The unexpected happens.  It looks as if there is no win.  We often wonder how we can bounce back from various circumstances and situations.  Money isn’t right.  Bills are due and overdue.  Well, it is during those times that we have to grab a hold to faith.  It is our faith in God that keeps us going.  Faith is trusting God, even when we don’t understand His plans.  We live by faith.  The bible declares that we walk by faith and not by what we see.  If we went according to what it looks like, we’d have given up a long time ago!  But, our faith ought to endure and shine through, in spite of.

In the scripture above, the Prophet Habakkuk has given several scenarios that would normally cause one to want to throw in the towel.  Remember that in those days, harvesting and crops and things of that nature was their livelihood.  So if those situations that he described in verse 17 were happening, they would be in big trouble!  But the prophet said, even in this, YET I will rejoice!  And THIS is the God kind of faith!  It is FAITH that causes one to say “IT IS WELL” when all HELL is breaking loose!

So, I say to each of you today, hold fast to faith.  Regardless as to how dismal the situation looks, declare out of your mouth and in your spirit, IT IS WELL!  God responds to an active faith!  He will come to your rescue.  Trust that God knows what He’s doing.  You ought to have a “yet praise” in you somewhere!  No matter how bad it looks, YET I praise You!  So my friends, in the midst of, in spite of and in the middle of, REJOICE…still.

Until next week…..
