How frustrating it is to be in a place where you’re not appreciated. A place where you’re doing everything and receiving hardly anything. You feel like you should be further along than you are. Brick wall after brick wall. I preached a sermon once entitled “Where is God when I need Him?” And that’s really how we feel sometimes when we are completely overwhelmed. You used to be extremely happy. But now, it seems as if life is throwing everything possible at you. Life has somehow detoured you. This does NOT look like where you’re SUPPOSED to be…right?
God’s Word tells us that being faster, stronger and wiser does not automatically make you a winner in life. No, it is actually being at the right place at the right time that causes you to receive blessings. And God, who holds time and chance in His hands, is the only one who can put you at the right place at the right time. “…the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.” ~Ecclesiastes 9:11
Every step that you have taken was divinely ordained by God to get you to where you are at this very moment. I hear you though; “how can THIS place be where I’m supposed to be?” It seems as if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, this place is where God is able to speak to you. Where He’s able to get your attention. He allows us to become so uneasy in our hearts and spirit that we not only see the need for a change, but we surrender completely to Him and we DESIRE a change. God doesn’t force us to change; that wouldn’t be love or walking in faith. However, when we see a need for change, He gives us His desire to surrender to change.
God isn’t punishing you, He is preparing you. Trust His plans not your pain!
So the place that you’re in doesn’t LOOK like where you’re supposed to be, but, it’s the will of God for you to be there. There’s still greatness that’s going to come out of you. But, it may be time for you to make some decisions. Deuteronomy 30:19 says, “…that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” So, in this place of discomfort, listen to the voice of God. He’ll speak to you but you’ve got to know His voice. And, if you’re in a place that doesn’t look like where you’re supposed to be AND you’re uncomfortable and frustrated, pray and make some decisions. You’ve been at this “mountain” too long. It’s time to move on!
Until next week………..
