“I’ve started, now what???”

Hello there everybody!  Hope you all have had a wonderful Wednesday! It’s been a busy one, but a good one. Well, on to the business. 🙂

Last week, I had the privilege of releasing my first blog to you!  What a joy that was! Glad to say that it (my first blog) has received RAVE reviews!  Thanks to each of YOU! My prayer is that my blogs encourage someone to get up and get moving! Have a new beginning! Never be afraid to start over.  Proverbs 24:16 says that a just man falls seven times, but he gets back up again! It’s ok to fall; just don’t stay there! Get back up and start fresh! (There will be other subjects)

For those of you who actually have started again, many may want to know “I’ve started, now what??? Well, let’s take a look at a couple things:

  1.      Why did you quit? Allow your mind to go back to the exact place (mentally, emotionally, physically) that you stopped doing what you were doing. What was the thing that made you give up? It’s great that you’re starting over, but there’s a possibility that you didn’t have to quit to begin with! That “thing” that made you quit, was it worth it? Could there have been a resolve? Remember, you were once happy in that place, or with that person or in that position…(be honest) and something took place that made you throw in the towel. If you can identify the “why”, you’ll be be more prepared for your next journey. You’ll know what to do and what not to do. You’ll know the mistakes that you made and not to repeat them. And most importantly, you’ll be able to place the blame (if applicable) in the proper place or on the correct person, which just may be YOU! (be honest again lol)
  2.      Prepare for obstacles!  According to Wikipedia, an obstacle course is a series of challenging physical obstacles an individual or team must navigate usually while being timed. Obstacle courses can include running, climbing, jumping, crawling, swimming and balancing elements with the aim or testing speed and endurance. You’ve got to know that life can be FULL of obstacles. So many road blocks. And they’re always unexpected! Always! The old saying goes “if it ain’t one thing, it’s another!” Oh how true! In a natural obstacle course, the obstacles are placed there PURPOSELY, and the runner’s job is to go around them, under them….whatever they have to do to get past them. But in the obstacle course of LIFE, you don’t know when the obstacle is coming; you don’t know where it’s coming from; all you know is that, out of the blue, BOOM! Remember last week’s blog? Remember those 7 events that were listed? You may want to go back and take a quick glance. Those obstacles aren’t planned, they just happen. And if you’re not prepared for them, it could very well make you want to quit again! But nooooooo way! You’re going to prepare for those obstacles this time! But how? Well, Ephesians 6:10-11 tells us how to prepare! Listen, if you do this thing on your own, you’ll lose EVERY time! But, if you’re prepared SPIRITUALLY, you have no choice but to succeed! It may be difficult, but with God first, YOUR OUTCOME IS VICTORY over every obstacle!!! And finally….
  3.      GROW UP! (This one may sting a bit lol) We’re living in an age where so many people are “in their feelings.” Things happen. Life happens. But you can’t allow your emotions to blur your vision of the finish line. You have goals to reach! So what they’re saying stuff about you! Who cares? So what you’ve fallen a few times! Who cares? You’ve started again! And THAT’S what’s important! They need to get over it. YOU need to get over it! Get out of your feelings and move on!!! So many are still crying about what happened YEARS ago! “They didn’t treat me right.” “He/she didn’t do what he/she was supposed to do.” “She/he left me.” Oh, get over it already! You’ll never gain the victory if all you can focus on is past failures! (That was good! LOL) Starting over, for you, shows a sign of growth; it shows maturity. You can’t allow petty things and petty people to take you off course. Grow up. Keep it moving!

So there you have three things that you can do once you’ve made the decision to begin again! It’s not always going to be easy, but it WILL be worth it! And before you even think you want to quit again, remember why you started in the first place!  There’s purpose in you, there’s victory waiting for you and there’s favor ON you!

Well, I hope that this helps us all to focus a bit more on what’s important…and that is reaching our goals, whatever they may be. Despite what life brings; despite what anyone thinks, does or says, maintain your momentum. And whatever you do, keep it moving!

Thanks for taking the time to read this weeks blog!  If you enjoyed it, please share it on your social media.  I’d greatly appreciate it.

Also, many have already begun to ask when I would start writing/blogging daily. Well, I’ll keep you posted lol…as for now, I’ll just be blogging on Wednesday evening. I love each of you and thanks for your support. #KeepMoving
